JFRCO, LLC

is a family-owned investment company based out of Denver, Colorado. Initially established in 1947, the company’s portfolio started with apartment buildings in California. The portfolio transitioned and diversified through market cycles for the next 75+ years. It now includes small to large scale shopping centers and mixed use buildings across the United States. Throughout its history, emphasis on community, strong and efficient property management and responsible investments have been key to the company’s growth.

Brent Zaterman & Margot Zaterman are currently the Managing Members of the firm.

JFRCO has enjoyed a long-term relationship with JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo Bank, as well as other reliable lenders such as Alpine Bank, Bank of Denver, Grant Street Financial, and UBS, and has a proven history in financing and closing on new acquisitions. As a result, the company is able to compete with REIT’s and other larger shopping center owners for new assets.

Historically, JFRCO has maintained a fiscally conservative balance sheet as evidenced by the amount of debt in relation to equity. The portfolio focuses on a diverse mix of properties with attractive growth potential. Purchases are made with great attention to location, construction, and tenant mix. The properties are held for the long-term rather than purchased for near-term resale value and are well-maintained.

Today JFRCO has properties in three states and is primarily based out of Colorado and Arizona. JFRCO, LLC manages its entire portfolio from the Denver office but retains on-site managers in Arizona.

Stanley Felix passed away in 2022. He was a practicing CPA and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers since 1974. In addition to founding JFRCO, Stanley also was a panelist for ICSC and he consulted on the development of the ICSC computer software (Centersoft) for the management of retail shopping centers.

Margot Zaterman is recently enjoying retirement but is still actively involved with JFRCO. She has an MBA from UCLA, and has a strong background in commercial banking, finance, and investment banking.

Brent Zaterman started actively working at JFRCO in 2018.
